Ruth Sands

Ruth Maracella Devick, daughter of Arne and Gina (Peterson) Devick, was born December 8, 1933 in Donnelly, Minnesota, where she was baptized into the Lutheran Faith in 1939 and confirmed in 1948 at Kongsvinger Lutheran Church, rural Donnelly. Ruth grew up in Donnelly and attended and graduated from Morris Area High School. On December 28, 1952, she was united in marriage to James Sands at Kongsvinger Lutheran Church. The couple made their home in Bloomington and later in Eden Prairie, where Ruth was employed by K-Mart as a bookkeeper for 20 years. Ruth was a member of the Giddens Aug. She enjoyed fishing and camping. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.





Ruth died on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at her home in St. Anthony, Minnesota, having lived to reach the age of 76 years.


She is survived by her husband: James of St. Anthony; four children: Gary Sands of Nevada, Dennis (Terry Ann) Sands of Hillman, Jody (Ty) Sackschewsky of Port Aransas, TX and Dana (Todd) Davis of Phoenix, AZ; five grandchildren and two sisters: Alice Holman of Morris and Corrine Jackson of Starbuck. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Gordon, Arland and Odin and two sisters: Bernice and Gladys.





Gary and Elna Smith will provide special music for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
