Sharon Kay Carlson, daughter of James and Mary (Keeler) Miller, was born July 15, 1944 in the Graceville Hospital in Graceville, MN. She grew up attending Barry Elementary School and later attended and graduated from Graceville High School. She was raised on a farm south of Barry. While in school, she enjoyed 4-H (raising sheep and cattle), fishing, hunting, riding horse and most outdoor activities, including being a practical jokester. She especially loved to pick on her grandkids and having coffee with her friends.
Sharon was united in marriage to Ronald Leroy Carlson on July 27, 1963. They lived in Lead, SD for three years, before moving back to a farm outside of Herman, MN. They lived there for a short time before moving to Donnelly, MN, where they made it their permanent home. Sharon began working different jobs, eventually being the first female bus driver for 30 plus years, for the Morris Area Schools. She thoroughly enjoyed her routes, as she thought of them as her kids. She loved activities like crossword puzzles, women's softball, playing cards and dancing. She especially loved to go on vacation with her husband Ron to Texas.
