Shirley Henrichs

Funeral services for Shirley Henrichs of Milaca, formerly of Donnelly will be held Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Kongsvinger Lutheran Church, Donnelly. Reverend Rochelle Anderson will be officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Shirley Clara Overturf, daughter of Homer and Elizabeth (Brewster) Overturf, was born April 28, 1923 in Montgomery, Minnesota. She grew up and attended high school in Herman, MN, graduating in 1940. On September 18, 1941, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Henrichs. Following their marriage, the couple farmed near Donnelly until 1960 when they moved into town. Shirley worked at the Villa of St. Francis Nursing Home in Morris from 1968 to 1988. During the last few years of Lawrence's life, Shirley cared for him at their home and when he entered the Villa. Lawrence passed away on October 4, 1998. She then moved to the Elim Care & Rehab Center in 2010 and lived there until her passing.

Shirley was a member of Kongsvinger Lutheran Church, KLCW, and sang in the church choir for many years. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, tending her flowers, crafts of all kinds, and morning coffee with friends at the café. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Shirley died on Friday, November 21, 2014 at the Elim Care & Rehab Center in Milaca, MN, having lived to reach the age of 91 years.

She is survived by her four children: Larry (Charlotte) Henrichs of Deerwood, Dennis (LuAnn) Henrichs of Crosby, Keith (Bev) Henrichs of Milaca and Sandra (Bruce) Loycano of Coon Rapids; two daughter-in-laws: Robin Henrichs of Coon Rapids and Vicki Henrichs of Coon Rapids; eleven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two sisters: Beth Thompson of St. Cloud and Helen (Bill) Haffa of Mesa, AZ; and one sister-in-law: Arlene Henrichs of Hoffman. She was preceded in death by her husband: Lawrence Henrichs; two sons: Jerry Henrichs and Jeffrey Henrichs; her parents and her sister: Mary Jipson.
