Shirley Hermanson

Shirley Ann Hermanson of Starbuck was called home to the Lord on August 15, 2008 at Robbinsdale Health Care Center in Robbinsdale , Minnesota .





Shirley was born September 5, 1934 in Moe Township , Douglas County, Minnesota to August E. and Anna (Esala) Anderson . She was baptized in the Lutheran Faith and confirmed at West Moe Lutheran Church of rural Brandon . She attended elementary school in rural District #5 and graduated from Brandon High School in 1952. Shirley graduated from the School of Business in Minneapolis .





Shirley was married to Wayne Hermanson at West Moe Lutheran Church on March 28, 1953. They lived in Brandon until Wayne entered the U.S. Army. Upon completing his service requirements, they moved to Starbuck and purchased Hermanson Jewelry. Shirley enjoyed meeting their customers and was active in city activities. After the closing of Hermanson Jewelry, Shirley was employed at the Rem House and the residents loved her. She was also a dedicated employee of the Starbuck VFW until her illness in 2007. Shirley was a member of Fron Lutheran Church in Starbuck. She was a member of the Starbuck American Legion Auxiliary and served as president. She was an avid bowler and belonged to the Starbuck Softball League.





She is survived by daughter: Tamara (Steve) Kelzenberg of Isanti; son: Randy Hermanson of St. Paul ; Wayne Hermanson of Cambridge ; mother: Anna E. Anderson of Evansville ; sister: Mae Eichelberger of Brandon ; niece: Anna esala; two nephews: Joel (Kaylee) Eichelberger and Ross (Cori) Eichelberger; grand nieces: Melissa, Ashley and Kiley Eichelberger and many cousins, friends and co-workers. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter: Debrah Hermanson; Daughter: Denise Sharlene Kosin; and father: August E. Anderson





Pallbearers for the service are Ross Eichelberger, Joel Eichelberger, Kenneth Esala, Charles Esala, Lyle Gregerson and Curtis Lyons. Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Starbuck American Legion Auxiliary. Shari Opdahl will serve as organist for the service with Joy Smith serving as soloist. Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck is in charge of the arrangements.
