The funeral for Shirley Tullos, of Morris, Minnesota will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Morris, with Reverend Gene Anderson officiating. Visitation will be on Friday at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be at the Summit Cemetery, Morris.
Shirley Thelma Isherwood, daughter of Earl and Joyce (Smith) Isherwood was born on October 27, 1921 in Morris, Minnesota. She attended school in Morris, graduating from Morris High School in 1939. Shirley attended Hamline University and Minneapolis Business College. She moved to Washington D.C., working for the government during World War II. Shirley was united in marriage to Robert Tullos on November 24, 1952. Robert died on October 25, 1958. Shirley lived in Denver, Colorado, Los Angles, California and Lansing, Michigan, before returning to Morris in 1962. She worked many years as the secretary for the Stevens County Sheriff, retiring in 1988.
Shirley was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the Morris V.F.W. Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, cross stitch, crocheting and watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. Most of all, Shirley loved spending time with her family.
Shirley died on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris. She was 95 years old.
She is survived by three daughters, Diane (Ted) Hurja, Grand Rapids, MI, Debbie (Ron) Swaner, Lakeville, MN and Becky Tullos, Morris, MN; five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Norman Tullos, her parents, one sister, Norma Kuske and one granddaughter, Keri Tullos.
Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
