The funeral for Steven Douglas Anderson, of Morris, Minnesota will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church at Morris, with Reverend Paul Erdal officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home, Morris. Burial will be at the Wennersborg Cemetery, near Kensington, Minnesota.
Steven Douglas Anderson, son of Harold and Verna (Kumpula) Anderson was born on September 25, 1958 at Litchfield, Minnesota. He graduated from Dassel-Cokato High School in 1976. After his schooling, Steve worked at a seed corn plant in the Dassel area. He was united in marriage to Connie Erickson on August 12, 1978 at the Peace Lutheran Church at Barrett, Minnesota. The couple moved to Morris, where Steve worked for Trademark Homes, Morris Co-op and as a custodian at the Morris Elementary School. In 1988, He began working for Tri-Co Ag. Service at Hancock. In 2006, Steve began working for Superior Industries. While at Superior, Steve worked as a final assembler and for the last several years as a welder.
Steve was a member of First Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and playing softball and was a Little League coach for 12 years. Steve's favorite pastime was spending time with his family and friends, but most of all loved being with his 6 grandchildren.
Steve died due to injuries suffered in a snowmobile accident on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 near Jackson, Wyoming. He was 53 years old.
Steve is survived by his wife, Connie, Morris; two sons, Ryan (Laura) Anderson, and Justin Anderson, all of Morris; two daughters, Marisa (Matt) Carlson, Morris, and Sarah (Colby) Schultz, Hoffman; his mother, Verna Anderson, Dassel; one brother, Bryan (Dezra) Anderson, San Clemente, CA; one sister, Sheila Steffen, Winsted, MN; six grandchildren, Damien, Skott, Abigail, Brayden, Aaden and Wyatt; 3 brothers-in-law, Dale Erickson, Barrett, MN, Darryl (Carol) Erickson, Kensington, MN, Dean Erickson, Barrett, MN; four sisters-in-law, Nancy (Marvin) Simar, Barrett, MN, Peggy (Bill) Pasche, Hoffman, MN, Susan (Dale) Murray, Alexandria, MN, and Janice (Troy) Reinking, Ireton, IA; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Russell and Ardyce Erickson, one brother-in-law, Donald Steffen, and one niece, Jill Pasche.
