Steven Lee Krupke was born on February 21, 1958, the first of four children born to Vernon and Yvonne (Lund) Krupke in Morris, MN. Steven was baptized on March 29, 1958 by Rev. Allen T. Peterson and confirmed on May 6, 1973 by Pastor Lane Doernig, both at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Hancock. He attended school in Hancock, graduating with the class of 1976. Following his education, Steve worked in the drywall business and as a farm hand for Terry Meierding and Daniel Jepma.
While in high school, Steven was active in football, baseball, and basketball; during this time, he gained the nickname “Snapper” which stuck, and he would still be called Snapper or Snap for short. Steve enjoyed playing horseshoes, reading, fishing, snowmobiling, and hunting, mostly deer. He was partial to John Deere tractors and Ford vehicles.
Steve lived his life on his terms, he lived humbly and carefree. He didn’t want or have much but was always willing to help friends and family when they needed help and give what he had. He would always be seen with a smile on his face.
Steve died unexpectedly on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at his home. He was 62 years old.
Steve is survived by his mother, Yvonne Krupke of Hancock; siblings: Brian Krupke of Hancock, Jane (Brian) Berget of Willmar, and Daniel Krupke of Hancock; nieces and nephews: Ryan, Mariah, Deanna, Kayla, and Parker; and extended family and friends. Steve is preceded in death by his father, Vernon Krupke.
Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in care of arrangements for Steve.
