Steven Olson

Funeral services for Steven Olson of Starbuck, MN will be held Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck, MN, with Reverend Fran Hill officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Steven Odin Olson, son of Thomas and Roma (Christianson) Olson was born on August 8, 1956 in Starbuck, Minnesota. Steven helped work the family farm alongside his dad until Thomas became ill and the family moved to town. After graduating from Starbuck High School, Steven worked construction in the area until he moved to Texas and became a full time over the road truck driver. Steven met Pat Axelson while living in Texas and the two were married on December 25, 1990. Sadly Pat and Steven did not work out and separated a few years later but remained in contact until Pat passed away.

In 1998, Steven moved to Burnsville Minnesota, where he lived with his sister Ellen. Steven worked for Pallets Unlimited in Saint Paul for multiple years. In 2016, Steven returned to Starbuck to care for his mother Roma.

In his younger years Steven enjoyed hunting, fishing, cross country skiing and baseball. As an adult Steven was into family, he coached his niece's softball team as well as tinkering with many jobs around the house.

Steven died unexpectedly at Glacial Ridge Hospital on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, having reached the age of 61.

Steven is survived by his mother: Roma Olson, Starbuck; three sisters: Connie Norris of Minneapolis, Ellen Mangan of Savage, and Carol (Mark) Westphal of Savage; two stepsons, Michael and Matthew and countless nieces and nephews. Steven was preceded in death by his wife, Pat, his father Thomas, and his step daughter, Michelle.
