Sunshine Heather Leuthard, daughter of Dale Leuthard and Debra Thompson, was born August 7, 1979 in Alexandria, Minnesota. She grew up and received her schooling in Morris, where she graduated from Morris Area High School. Following her graduation, Sunshine traveled all the way around the United States, camping at national parks in just about every state. She had lived in the Bitter Root Mountains of Montana, and Yellow Stone Park in Wyoming, where she worked. She lived in Flamingo, Florida, where she worked in a National Park and in Chicago, Illinois, where she worked in a Deli. She was employed by Willie's Super Value in Morris and most recently, she was employed at the Old #1. She also worked at the Morris Theatre for several years.
Sunshine enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting, drawing, painting, gardening, being with family and friends, traveling and picking on her guitar, which she named Leonard. She loved her dog, Odin. She had a very special way with all animals, especially dogs. Sunshine was always up for a good debate.
Sunshine died on Monday, July 17, 2006 at her home in Morris, having lived to reach the age of 26 years.
She is survived by: her parents: Paul and Debra Thompson of Hancock and Dale Leuthard of Ashby; two sisters: Beth Hilbrand of Maple Grove and Hope Buss of Hancock; one brother: Joel Leuthard of Morris; 6 nieces and nephews; grandparents: Marion Stanton of Graceville, Shirley Leuthard of Ashby and Gorden and Esther Thompson of Cyrus; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother: Isaac Leonard Leuthard and grandfathers: Leonard Stanton and Henry Leuthard.
Pallbearers for the service are: Robert Peterson, Antony Riggles, Kalvin Hoffman, Drew Israel, Gethro Fluegel and Pete Daniels. Honorary pallbearers are all who called Sunshine friend. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
