Thomas Peter Hein, son of Ellsworth and Irene (Schleper) Hein, was born on December 3, 1952 in St. Cloud, Minnesota. He graduated from Paynesville High School in 1970. He then attended Willmar Technical College for two years for electronics technician and graduated in 1972. During this time, he enlisted in the Paynesville Army Reserves for six years. He met Pat, his future wife, on a blind date and they were married on September 28, 1973. He worked at Western Coop Transport for 28 years.
Tom was tragically taken from this earth due to an accident on June 6, 2006. He willingly gave up his life to save the person in the other vehicle. He also was an organ donor and has saved countless lives by donating his organs. Tom died on Monday, June 12, 2006 at the St. Cloud Hospital, having lived to reach the age of 53 years.
He is survived by his wife: Pat Hein of Morris; one son: John Thomas Hein of Blaine; one daughter: Amanda (Aaron) Luthi of Morris; three grandchildren: Annika Hein, Noah and Abram Luthi; his parents: Ellsworth and Irene Hein of Paynesville; one sister: Suzanne (James) Brick of Lake Henry; one brother: John Hein of Paynesville; god parents: Pete and Adeline Holper of Paynesville and many wonderful and caring nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his twin brother: Timothy Mark Hein.
Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials are preferred to the West Zion Lutheran Church.
