The funeral for Verna M. Stahman, of Morris, Minnesota will be held on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, with Reverend Dell Sanderson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Summit Cemetery, Morris.
Verna Marjorie Olson, daughter of Bert and Tina (Fredrickson) Olson was born on April 18, 1918 in Alberta, Minnesota, where she grew up and attended school. After graduating from Alberta High School, Verna moved to Minneapolis and worked for the Sears Company. She returned to Alberta, where she met Albert "Bud" Stahman. The couple was united in marriage on June 10, 1949. Bud and Verna continued to live on the family farm until retiring 1976, when they moved to Morris. Verna and Bud loved traveling to Texas, and often found that the trip to Texas was just as much fun as the actual destination. Verna entered the West Wind Village in Morris in November of 2006. Bud died on June 6, 2011. Verna continued to live at West Wind, where she enjoyed living and loved the staff.
She enjoyed watching birds, gardening, canning, making crafts and playing the organ. Her family was very important to her, as were her many wonderful neighbors. She will truly be missed by those who knew her.
Verna died on Saturday, November 23, 2012 at the West Wind Village in Morris. She was 94 years old.
She is survived by one sister-in-law, Margaret Lupfer of Litchfield, MN, and several nieces, nephews and numerous friends. Verna was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother, Carmen and one sister, Naomi Subak.
