Ruth Elizabeth Vernone "Nonie" Hendrickson, daughter of Reinert and Ruth (Nelson) Hendrickson, was born May 20, 1925 in San Fernando Valley, California. She was dedicated to the Lord as an infant by Aimee Semple McPherson. At the age of five years, Nonie's family moved to Minnesota. While growing up, her family also lived in Wisconsin for a few years before settling in Benson, Minnesota, where she graduated from Benson High School in 1943. Following her schooling, she worked as a secretary to the Superintendent of Swift County Schools. On March 22, 1950, she was united in marriage to Clifford Bjorlin at the Gospel Tabernacle Church in Benson, MN. The couple made their home in Eldorado Township, rural Donnelly, where they raised their two children.
Nonie was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Morris, where she taught Sunday school and served as Sunday School Superintendent. She was also a member of the Women's Missionary Group. She also participated in the Parkinson's Support Group and was a member of the Homemaker's Club. She loved cooking, baking, sewing, being a wife, mother and grandmother. She especially loved to spoil her grandchildren. She loved being with family.
Nonie died on Thursday, May 11, 2006 at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris, having lived to reach the age of 80 years.
She is survived by her husband: Clifford Bjorlin of Donnelly; one son: Robert (Edie) Bjorlin of Phoenix, AZ; one daughter: Diane (Gary) Amundson of Barrett; four grandchildren: Weston, Michael and Christopher Bjorlin and Cody Amundson; two sisters: Ardis (Elvin) Linder of Rio Linda, CA and Eunice (Allan) Wright of Citrus Heights, CA and several sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: Ray Hendrickson and one sister: Bernell Carlson.
Pallbearers for the service are: Gayland Hendrickson, Gary Hendrickson, Dennis Carlson, Weston Bjorlin, Michael Bjorlin, Christopher Bjorlin and Cody Amundson. JoAnne Foley will serve as pianist for the service with Sheryl Woetzel serving as soloist/songleader. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
