Vicki Carlson, daughter of Clinton William, Sr. and Rosemary Jean Iverson, was born October 4, 1960 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she grew up and attended school. In March of 1990, Vicki met and fell in love with Dan Carlson and Dan’s daughter, Lindsay, who was four at the time. She took Lindsay in as if she were her own daughter. In June of 1991, Dan and Vicki moved onto a hobbie farm near Chokio, Minnesota. Vicki loved living on the farm, being a housewife and taking care of her animals. She learned to love the simple things in life, living in the rural country. A large part of her daily life was going to Chokio and visiting “Granny” and helping her with whatever needed to be done. For the past six years, Vicki battled pancreatic cancer and Hodgkin’s disease. She was an incredible survivor and worked every day at beating the odds.
Vicki died on Monday November 10, 2008, at the age of 48, at her home in the arms of the love of her life, Dan. Her spirit will live on at the farm with Dan, until they are reunited.
She is survived by her husband: Daniel Jon Carlson of Chokio; daughter: Lindsay Rose Carlson of Rogers; sons: Ray Kaeder of Minneapolis and Michael Kaeder of Minneapolis; daughter: Kim O'Neill of St. Paul; two brothers: Mearl Johnathon Iverson of Brooklyn Center and Clinton William Iverson of Minneapolis; mother-in-law: Barbara Eide of Stevensville, MT and father-in-law: Lauren Carlson of Chokio.
Pallbearers for the service are: Bill Iverson, John Iverson, Peter Carlson and Tom Carlson. Linda Hodgson will serve as organist for the service. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
