A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 11th at 11:00 a.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, Minnesota, with a light lunch to follow. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Vincent was born on January 29, 1925 in Chokio, Minnesota, the son of Anna and Jacob Durst. He attended District 55 (Marty Grove) School and graduated from Chokio High School in 1942. He attended Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, he then returned to Chokio where he spent his lifetime as a successful farmer. Vin was lighthearted in life, with a wonderful sense of humor and a hearty laugh. He enjoyed many outdoor activities, working with livestock and crops, gardening, and trying-out new ideas. He also enjoyed attending the annual family birthday party, and visiting with people.
Vincent (Vin) C. Durst, 87, of Chokio, Minnesota died on Monday, April 30, 2012 at his home near Chokio.
Vin is survived by his two sisters, Vivian Seiler of Casper, Wyoming and Millicent Cummings of Plymouth, Minnesota; his two brothers, Donald (Gloria) Durst of Chokio, Minnesota and Leland Durst of Willmar, Minnesota, and several nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George and Robert (Bob) Durst and sister, Marguerite Davis.
Vin will be greatly missed and remembered by his family and friends.
