Vincent Hartman

Vincent Leo Hartman, son of Frank and Katherine (Hochstatter) Hartman, was born July 15, 1918 in Wilmont , Minnesota . Vincent grew up on a farm near Wilmont. On August 7, 1941 he entered the United States Army where he served in Algiers , Tunisia , Naples and Rome . Vincent received an honorable discharge on October 15, 1945. On January 12, 1946 he was united in marriage to Natalie Briggs. From this union four children were born. Following their marriage, t he couple bought a farm in Everglade Township in Steven County . Vincent lived on the farm until 2007, when he moved to West Wind Village, where he lived until the time of his death.





Vincent was a member of the VFW of Morris. He enjoyed playing cards with friends. He also enjoyed old time music, especially the Nite Owls. He also attended music festivals and dances. He also enjoyed attending Army reunions. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.





Vincent died on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at West Wind Village in Morris , MN , having lived to reach the age of 91 years.





He is survived by his wife: Natalie Hartman of Morris; three children: James (Susan) Hartman of Farwell, Lawrence (Connie) Hartman of Chokio and Brian (Pam) Hartman of Lindstrom; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son: Peter; one brother: Donald; five sisters: Helen, Luella, Monica, Thelma and Genevieve.





Pallbearers for the service are: Arlene Lillis, Heidi Louwagie, Holly Carrington, Steven Hartman, Christine Mahoney, Matthew Hartman, Alicia Hartman and Sarah Hartman. Honorary pallbearers are: Lawrence Koepp, Eucharistic Ministers of St. Mary’s, Vincent’s Neighbors and Army friends living and deceased. Amy Blackwelder will serve as organist with Tom Horning and Sandi Marlow Weber providing special music. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
