Violet Mae (Luthi) Wulf, age 84, of Morris MN passed away on Sunday, May 12th at the Stevens Community Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 16, at 10:00 a.m. at the Apostolic Christian Church, rural Morris.
Violet was born on July 12, 1928 at her home south of Morris MN to William and Minnie (Schlupp) Luthi. She grew up on the family dairy farm and attended country school through the 8th grade.
In addition to helping her mother, she served as a nanny to other families. While helping her cousin in Iowa, she met her husband of 54 years. Violet and Leonard were married on February 3, 1949 in Morris. They repented and were baptized in the Apostolic Christian Church on October 14, 1950.
Vi was a supportive farm wife, raising eleven children, and helping on the family farm. She cherished her family and treasured the time she spent with them.
In 1999, Violet and Leonard moved off the farm into their home in Morris MN. Twelve years later in 2011, Violet moved into an apartment at Skyview Plaza.
Violet served the Lord by helping and entertaining others. Her house was a home to many over the years. She enjoyed quilting, reading, and playing games with family and friends. Family, church, community, business and travel allowed the couple to form many friendships and lasting memories.
Survivors include her children: Dennis (Judy) Wulf of Morris; Douglas (Joyce) Wulf of Morris; Davis (Nancy) Wulf of Morris; Cynthia (Rick) Schmidgall of Elgin, Illinois; Jeral (Linda) Wulf of Hancock; Catherine (Steven) Backman of Morris; Shirley (Randall) Koehl of Hancock; LeAnn (Nathan) Gerber of Bluffton, Indiana; James (Twyla) Wulf of Starbuck; Duane (Ann) Wulf of Magdalena, Mexico; and Patricia (Christopher) Wente of Morris; 51 Grandchildren; 55 Great-Grandchildren; four siblings: Raymond (Vi) Luthi of Lamar, MO, Wilma (Clyde) Kuntz of Gridley, IL, Reuben (Chrystol) Luthi of Morris and Lillian (Howard) Mogler of Alvord, IA; In-laws: Della Luthi of Morris, Virgil & Mildred Sauder of Morris, Leah Doorneweerd of Beaver Creek, MN and Alice Wulf of Lester, IA, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Wulf; grandchildren: Terry Wulf and Benjamin Gerber; great-grandchild: Jackson Grimm; her parents, William & Minnie Luthi; her step-mother, Lillie Luthi and three brothers: Albert, Harold and Donald Luthi.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Skyview Plaza of Morris, Courage Cottage of Morris and to the American Lung Association. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
