Virene Irwin Nagl was born on June 9, 1929 to Archie and Pearl (Blood) Peters in Traverse County, Minnesota and attended school in Chokio, Minnesota. Virene married Curtis Irwin on October 25, 1947, made their home and raised their five sons on the Irwin family farm in Rensville Township. Virene worked as a Nursing Assistant at the Stevens County Medical Center for over 30 years and retired in 1994. She loved her patients and the people she worked with at the center. After Curt’s passing in 1993, Virene married George Nagl in 2003. They remained on the farm for many more years until their move to Morris, Minnesota.

Virene and Curt loved their trips to Montana to spend time with their sons and families. Brother and sister reunions and family reunions were always special to her. Virene also loved her winter home in Florida with George, her sisters and their husbands.
