Funeral services for Waldon Henriksen of Fergus Falls, MN, will be held Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 10:30 am at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris. Reverend Harry Olson will be officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services on Thursday. Burial will take place at the Summit Cemetery in Morris.
Waldon Eugene Henriksen, son of Fred and Lena (Ernst) Henriksen, was born April 6, 1927 in Morris, Minnesota. He grew up on a farm and attended school in Alberta. On October 21, 1961, he was united in marriage to Lois Ruth Benard. Following their marriage, they lived in St. Paul. Waldon worked construction for a number of years while also being a concessionaire at the St. Paul Coliseum. Waldon later moved to Fergus Falls, MN where he lived until the time of his death.
Waldon enjoyed photography and traveling. Waldon and Lois travelled extensively with notable trips to the holy land. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with family and his church.
Waldon died on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at The Pioneer Retirement Community in Fergus Falls, MN. He lived to reach the age of 84 years.
Waldon is survived by his brothers: Herb (Doris) Henriksen of Eufaula, OK and Jim (Jan) Henriksen of McMinnville, OR. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Donald, Richard and Stanley Henriksen and two sisters: Darlene McDonnell and Jane Henriksen.
Pallbearers for the service are: Todd Friesen, Timothy Friesen, David Friesen, Randall Henriksen, Robin Henriksen, and Mike McDonnell. Rita Lambert will serve as organist for the service with Cindy Henriksen serving as soloist. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
