Walter Mohr

Memorial services for Walter Mohr of Sierra Vista, AZ, formerly of Morris will be held Friday, April 27, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Morris. Reverend Gregg Bitter will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery in Morris. Military rites will be provided by the the Morris American Legion, VFW and AmVets.
Walter Charles Mohr, son of Herman and Elsie Mohr, was born on March 8, 1932 in a blizzard in Horton Township in Stevens County, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Horton Township. On August 7, 1971, he was united in marriage to Pamela Proudfoot. Walt served in the United States Army and was a member of the VFW. He was also a member of the Trinity Orthodox Lutheran Church in Sierra Vista, Arizona.
Walt enjoyed hunting, fishing, landscaping and warm weather. In 2002, Walt and Pam became permanent residents of Sierra Vista, Arizona.
Walt died on Monday, April 16, 2012 at Life Care Center in Sierra Vista, AZ, having lived to reach the age of 80 years. "By love they are remembered and in memory they live."
He is survived by his wife: Pamela Mohr of Sierra Vista, AZ; brother, Lloyd Mohr of Morris; mother-in-law, Patricia Proudfoot of Morris; brothers-in-law, Lee Proudfoot of Willmar, Mike Proudfoot of Morris and Glenn (Jennifer) Proudfoot of Poughkeepsie, NY; sister-in-law, Martha (Terry) Kukla of Morris and special friends, Sandra and Elena Gruwell of Walker, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert, Ralph, John and Lyle Mohr; sisters, Margaret Siebrecht and Bernice Fluegel and father-in-law, Fay L. Proudfoot
