Wayne Alexander, son of Dudley and Pauline (Dauph) Alexander, was born June 9, 1952 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Following his birth, his family moved to Senora, California, where he grew up and received his schooling. After his schooling in 1971, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served for 12 years, being stationed around the world including, Hawaii and Germany. Wayne received an honorable discharge and moved to Oklahoma, where he worked as a truck Driver. In 1999, he met Lorena Nissen. He gave up truck driving and the couple was united in marriage on March 19, 2000. The couple moved to Morris in May of 2000 and then to Hancock in October. Wayne worked for Haberer Seed and Farm Company; was a custodian at the Morris Area High School and also worked at Morris Electronics.
He enjoyed reading, watching NASCAR, where #20 Jimmy Johnson was his favorite racer. He also enjoyed watching WWE Wrestling, hunting, politics, working on his truck and especially spending time with his family.
Wayne died on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at West Wind Village in Morris, MN, having lived to reach the age of 55 years.
He is survived by his wife: Lorena Alexander of Hancock; father: Dudley Alexander of Morris; two step-sons: Greg Kirkbride of Santa Rosa, CA and Jeff (Sarah) Kirkbride of Cotati, CA; nine brothers and sisters; father and mother-in-law: Ken and Verlys Nissen of Morris and his cat: Pib. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Rita Lambert will serve as organist for the service with Deb Alberts serving as soloist. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
