The memorial service for Wayne Lloyd Benson, of Hancock, Minnesota will be held on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, Minnesota, with Reverend Julius Miller officiating. Visitation will be on Monday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Wayne Lloyd Benson, son of Olie and Agnes (Bergerson) Benson was born on August 10, 1951 at Hancock, Minnesota. He graduated from Hancock High School in 1969, and furthered his education attending the University of Minnesota Morris and Controlled Data Institute in Minneapolis. After his schooling, Wayne returned to Hancock, where he worked for both Hancock Concrete and West Central Concrete. He later moved to Minneapolis and worked as a computer programmer, before returning to Hancock where he worked at Superior in Morris. At the time of his death, Wayne was employed at Hancock Concrete.
Wayne was an easy going and gentle man. He loved working with computers and reading.
Wayne died on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota. He was 61 years old.
He is survived by two brothers, Allen (Sue) Benson and Kenny (Wanda) Benson, all of Hancock; two sisters, Sylvia (Gary) Eckel, Hancock and Marilynn (Marvin) Grammentz, Morris; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Curtis and his grandparents.
