A Celebration of Life for Michael Hein will be on Tuesday, May 30, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with a prayer service at 2:00 PM at the Morris Armory in Morris. The family requests comfortable dress and/or leathers.
Michael “Mike” Andrew Hein, DVM, of Morris, Minnesota passed away on Saturday, May 27th, 2017 at CentraCare Health Hospital in St. Cloud, MN at the age of 52. Mike was born March 12, 1965, the son of Herb and Rose Hein. He was raised on the family farm near Battle Creek, Iowa and graduated from Battle Creek High School in 1983, where he played football and ran track. He graduated from Northern Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) and then received his veterinary medicine degree from Iowa State University in 1995. He worked for many years as a veterinarian in Morris. He was self-employed at Ironhorse Livestock Services and also worked for Engebretson Sanitary Disposal in Morris at the time of his death.
Mike was a loving family man who enjoyed NDSU Bison football; grilling for friends, family, and local events; gardening; helping 4-H kids in livestock at county fairs, and riding his 2007 Yamaha Roadstar, “Eleanor.”
Mike is survived by his wife, Judy (Arbegast) Hein, two sons Tyler (fiancé Andrea Weber) and Danton (fiancé Alaina Ritchie) all of Fargo, North Dakota; a daughter, Deidre of Elmira, New York; a brother Marc (Michelle) Hein of Sioux City, IA; a sister Pamela (Bartholomew) Eisfelder of Evanston, Illinois; brothers-in-law: Gene Arbegast of CA, Jerry (Angela) Arbegast of IA, Neil Arbegast of IA, Jim (Karen) Arbegast of CO, Paul (Kristy Rosemeyer) Arbegast of IA, and Brian (Julie) Arbegast of ND; sisters-in-law: Marie (Darrell) Cook of TN, Joyce Flink of IA, Mary Lou Redenius of IA, Kay Johnston of TX, Linda (Mark) Aschenbeck of TN, and LaRae (Tre) Madison of WA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
